REMY HAIR

Remy hair is said to be the best type of hair extensions available. Out of the entire human hair category, remy hair gives the most natural appearance. It is the preferred choice for wigs and hairpieces because of its appealing qualities. It is also referred to as cuticle hair, virgin hair and raw hair.

Remy hair has been collected from a hair donor.  It is considered to be the finest quality of human hair because the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped, like in most other non-Remy hair extensions. The cuticles are not stripped and remain aligned in one direction. Most human hair sold in the hair extensions industry undergo a cuticle-stripping process called an acid-bath. Then, a silicone is placed over the cuticles to give the hair a faux shine and smooth appearance. This silicone wears off when the hair is washed, therefore, the cuticles are disturbed and return back to their unruly state, causing the hair to mat and tangle easily. Remy hair does not mat or tangle because all the cuticles are aligned and intact without the use of silicone.  Preserving the hairs’ cuticles and aligning them in a unidirectional fashion creates extensions that are completely natural in appearance. This process ensures that the hair remains super soft, shiny, silky and completely tangle-free throughout its lifetime.

Remy hair can be found in many portions of the world. The most popular type is Indian remy hair. Its texture and color can be easily matched to the majority of ethnic groups in the world. Remy hair also comes from South America, East Asia and Europe. The origin of the remy hair an individual purchases is not as important as the kind of care that was given to the hair when it was first collected from the donor.

Remy hair has a smoother, shinier, and healthier appearance than regular human hair. When washed, it will not mat and tangle. Virgin remy hair has not been chemically processed; this hair is raw and natural in other terms. Non-virgin remy hair underwent some sort of chemical processing in order to achieve another color.

Single-drawn remy hair has been collected straight from the donor but is made up of different lengths, with the cuticles intact. Double-drawn remy hair is hair that has been sorted after collecting from the donor to ensure all the cuticles are of the same length. It is the most expensive type of remy hair because it takes meticulous time to sort the cuticles.

An individual who uses remy hair extensions will experience less matting and tangling than an individual who uses regular human hair extensions. Remy hair also gives a more natural appearance than regular human hair extensions.

Remy hair is the most expensive type of hair to purchase in the world because of the special care needed to maintain it.

Remy Human Hair is the highest grade of real, human hair that is a preferred choice for hair extensions, hairpieces and wigs because it achieves the most natural look.

High quality hair and processing will demand higher prices but they are worth the investment.

The best hair is harder to come by and costs more to process. With human hair you get what you pay for.   We do our best to find good quality 100% Remy human hair.  However, like most things, usually the more it cost the better quality you will obtain.

Remy Hair is the best hair on the market.  The processing is done by hand, in small batches and with no machinery.  Only 1 percent of the hair gathered is used for Remy hair making the end result the finest quality hair available on the market today.

Hair care and maintenance instructions
Zanta virgin and remy hair extensions should be treated as normal hair and washed regularly to maintain its shape. We recommend shampoo and conditioners that contain no sulfates

Before shampooing, thoroughly brush your hair to remove any tangles

Shampoo hair in a downward direction. Do not pile the hair on top of your head. Gently lift your wefts up to clean your own scalp and hair. Follow the same instructions when using conditioner

Rinse hair completely with water and towel dry without rubbing or twisting the hair

If you need to blow dry your hair, use low heat. Excessive heat can dry and damage your hair

Once your hair is dry, you can style it as desired.

To maintain the natural body of zanta virgin and remy hair, avoid using styling products containing alcohol or heavy oils

At bedtime, brush your hair thoroughly. Then wrap hair or tie it up with a silk scarf to prevent tangling. Never sleep on loose, wet hair

FAQs

Here are some answers to a few frequently asked questions.

What does the term “wefted” mean?

Wefted hair is hair used for weaving. It is sewn or bonded (with special bonding glue) into a track/braid ready for the weaving process. A weft looks like a curtain or hair stitched together along the top.

Can the weft be cut?

Yes. Our wefts are reinforced and made by a machine. They can be cut without unraveling.

How much hair do I need?

For Weaving: If you are getting a full sew-in weave the average person needs about six to eight ounces of hair. We recommend buying 2 packs of hair and saving the hair for later (for lengths 12”-18”). If you are using hair over 18” long we suggest purchasing an additional pack (3 total) It is always best to have enough hair than run our during the installation. Hair does not expire.

For Bonding: If you are getting the hair bonded one pack is enough for five to six track layers

Does the hair appear natural?

Very! The wind could blow, someone could touch your hair, swim, sauna, spa. It is incredible and the hair is as light as a feather, no one will even know you have hair extensions.

Can I color this hair?

Yes, this is 100% virgin human hair which is not processed in any way. So you can color the hair, Once virgin hair is treated in any way, it is no longer virgin, therefore we recommend that you color or process your Indian hair by a professional.

What type of hair car products should I use?

Treat this hair like your own hair. Use good quality shampoo and conditioning products. Conditioning your hair is very important to keep it soft and manageable. We recommend using a deep conditioner on your Indian hair once per week, but avoid using oil or heavy styling products.

Do I have to do anything special in the morning?

We advise that you comb your hair every morning. Gently brush your hair from the ends towards your scalp. Starting from the ends keeps the pressure off the weft area and is a good way to maintain the longevity of the extensions.

Do I have to do anything special at night?

You must NEVER sleep on wet hair. Sleeping on wet hair is known to matte hair which makes it very difficult to keep the hair the way you want. Just make sure your hair is completely dry before you go to sleep and you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.

Is there maintenance involved with the up keep of this hair?

Yes schedule your re-attachment service appointments every 5-8 weeks.

Can I go swimming?

You may go swimming in pools and hot tubs We recommend braiding your hair pr pulling it up into a ponytail before swimming to keep your hair from tangling. It is best to wash your hair right after swimming. Add a spray in conditioner after swimming.

How often can I wash my hair?

As often as you like

How long does the hair last?

This hair can lat for a very long time depending on how you maintain it. Treat it like your own hair and take good care of it for it to last longer. Depending on maintenance, hair will last 6 months to a year.

What is the difference in virgin remy hair and remy hair sold in beauty supply stores?

In order to pull off your best look, the hair must flow like real hair, behave like real hair, and look like real hair. You need hair that you can custom color and match to your own, perm, and style, without damage. The only hair that can achieve this is virgin remy hair. Wearing hair extensions is your secret, and no one should know but you! The difference between our virgin remy hair and beauty supply store hair, is the difference of people saying “ She has such beautiful full hair” and “She is wearing wet’n’wavy!” At Crème de-la Crème hair we don’t believe in “cookie-cutter hair.” Despite what commercial grade “remy” hair sold in beauty supply stores may claim, we can promise you that commercial beauty supply store hair is in no way virgin or remy and you, the consumer, should be aware of that!

The Truth: About 90% of the human hair for sale (including commercial “remy”) by beauty supply stores and some online hair retailers has been heavily processed to achieve the look and feel. It is usually low quality, stiff and wiry hair of Asian (Chinese) origin, and sometimes mixed with synthetic and animal “filler” hair. Such hair is collected in a disorganized manner (tops/ends mixed up), stripped of its cuticles by soaking it in an acid bath colored with metallic dyes, and further chemically processed to achieve certain textures. It arrives coated heavily in silicone, giving it a temporary “tangle free” nature and unnatural shine, which rinses away with the first few washes. Once the silicone coat is gone the significantly degraded hair leads to intense tangling, gathering, matting, stiffness, and dryness. Because the hair has been so heavily processed, it usually cannot handle any further processing (i.e. coloring, perming, heating, curling, straightening). This type of hair is usually only good for one extension service and must be disposed of, leading to an expensive yearly cost if you are a frequent extensions wearer.

Will Indian or Brazilian hair match the texture of African American hair?

Yes, because the hair is also ethnic it blends well African American hair.
Hair Care Maintenance
Caring for Virgin Hair is no different from caring for your natural hair. Our Virgin Hair is the closest you will find to your natural hair.

Here are just a few tips on daily care to keep your hair weave looking healthy, manageable and re-usable.

Sleeping: Never sleep on wet r damp hair. Always make sure your hair is completely dry before going to bed.

Before Going to Bed: Gently brush hair to remove all tangles. Braid your hair into a couple of big braids, wrap your hair, or tie your hair into a ponytail or bun. Sleeping in a satin scarf also beneficial.

Washing Your Hair: Keeping your hair extension clean is very important to making them last longer. Before washing your hair extensions: Brush your hair and remove all tangles and knots. Them wet a small portion of hair at the time and use a good detangling shampoo, and a rich moisturizer. Distribute shampoo and conditioner evenly throughout the hair. Always wash my hair going in a downward motion. Apply a deep moisturizing conditioner to your extensions.

After washing and conditioning your hair, apply a good leave -in conditioning product, this always helps to keep your hair super soft and moist.

Wavy & Curly Hair: If you have wavy or curly textured hair extensions and plan to wear the hair wavy or curly you need to apply a curl defining/curl control cream while the hair is wet. This way it will stop the hair from frizzing and lock in the wave or curl in the hair. We recommend Curl Wise 14 by Redken, which can be purchased at any salon that sells Redken products. (i.e. Regis Salon in Galleria)

Styling Your Hair: Virgin Human Hair is very close to your own natural hair. You can basically do anything with it; perm it, color, brush, comb and flat iron it to any style just like your natural hair. If you are not familiar with coloring hair please bring extensions to a professional colorist!!!
